Oroborus Books is dedicated to the fact that God can be, and intends to be, found and known by
each of us.
We are convinced that everyone already knows the answers to the burning questions, "Who am I?
Who is God? Why am I here?" but have chosen to forget. We can all remember; enlightenment is
merely waking up to what we already know to be true.
It is inevitable that quantum discoveries will result in a world wide paradigm shift. We the authors and
publishers at Oroborus Books, are committed to sharing with others all the spiritual
ramifications of these discoveries.
It is our goal to aid our brothers in every way possible to remember who they are, reconnect with the
One Mind of our Father and reunite in oneness.
Also spelled ouroborus, this Latin word literally means tail-devourer and is pictured as a snake or
serpent swallowing its tail. The symbol may have originated in Ancient Egypt (around 1600 BC) but
was used in Chinese, Greek, Hindu, Norse, Aztec and Native American cultures as well. It is
generally thought to represent the cyclical nature of the universe and eternal return, especially from
the standpoint that cycles have their beginnings in their endings. Alchemists used the symbol in a
similar way, but also used it to express the thought that “All is One.” Early Christians used the
oroborus to symbolize the world existing inside the circle of the snake, confining and separating it
from the universe that existed outside it. Gnostic Christians used it to signify duality. In modern
times, Carl Jung recognized the oroborus as an archetype for immortality and infinity.
We are especially drawn to the alchemical meaning of the oroborus. Alchemy is usually thought of
as the precursor of chemistry, but it is not as well known that alchemy was also a means of seeking
spiritual refinement; a process of eliminating the dross of the world and rejoining the oneness of the
universe. We are tantalized by the parallel between quantum mechanics, often thought of as a
modern alchemy, and the fact that science is bringing us back to the understanding that, “All is
One,” an idea that will undoubtedly aid spiritual seekers to eliminate the dross of this world.
